The Epps Family Values: Knowledge, Honesty, & Service

T.D. Epps, the founder of Epps Plumbing & Heating, Inc., grew up in Ardmore and attended Lower Merion High School. After serving in the Marines in WWII, he took a watchmaker's course, drove a truck for Lee Tire, and worked for Sayer Golf Clubs making golf clubs before he began his plumbing career with John L. Gray Plumbing in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. After the Galligan Brothers bought out the company, Ted attended apprentice school, attained journeyman status, and finally earned a master plumber license in 1958.

T.D. Epps Plumbing & Heating was started in 1964. Early advertising included direct mail and ads in The Suburban and Wayne Times. The business provided 24-hour emergency service, and the business grew. Ted rented a garage on East Conestoga Avenue in Strafford before buying the current shop at 132-A Plant Avenue in 1973.

Alan Epps is a second-generation Registered Master Plumber.  After graduating from Radnor High School, Alan went directly into the family business, enrolling in trade school and earning his Master Plumbers License in 1984.  He bought the company from his father and established EPPS Plumbing & Heating, Inc., in 1995.  Alan has old-fashioned work ethic combined with modern plumbing techniques. His intuitive knowledge of plumbing allows him to diagnose and fix problems quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Shaun Epps is a third-generation Registered Master Plumber and joined the family business in June of 2013. In addition to attaining status as a Master Plumber, Shaun has a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management from the University of Delaware and previously worked for a large facilities management company.

Thank You from Epps

The Story of our Racing Flags

When Alan Epps bought his 1957 Chevy 210 in the early ‘70s, its sole purpose was basic transportation. This was the tail end of the muscle car era, and the '57 saw its share of backstreet showdowns, but that was the extent of its hot-rodding.

In the late ‘80s, Alan moved his slice of "American Graffiti" into the Pro Street ranks. The Chevy 210 was transformed into a drag strip funny car and Alan perfected his racing skills at Maple Grove Drag Way. Alan's hobby turned into a 15-year passion, as he became a divisionally ranked, drag race funny car driver. Our racing flags now symbolize speedy and winning service.
